About Tayport


Tayport is located on the east coast of Scotland in Fife, at the mouth of the river Tay. It is a historic harbour town with attractive views of the Broughty Ferry coastline and those of Tentsmuir Forest.

It is within easy commuting distance to Dundee via the Tay Road Bridge. St Andrews and Edinburgh are both popular tourist attractions being 20 and 50 minute drives to the south respectively.

Local tourist amenities include local Shops, a Caravan Park, an 18-hole golf course (Scotscraig) and large park areas.

Tayport's Auld Kirk


Unused as a church for over twenty years, this building, with its distinctive leaning clock tower, is one of the best known landmarks in the area. It has been recognised by Historic Scotland as a "B" listed building, together with its unique graveyard.

Wednesday, October 8th Residents of Tayport are welcome to join George & Sheila at our beginner's ballroom dance class on Wednesday evenings beginning the 8th October at Burnside Hall, Balmullo 8.15 - 9.45pm. Private tuition also available. Also join us at our monthly Saturday evening social dances and weekly afternoon tea dances. Thursday, October 9th  10am - 11:30am, coffee morning in the Gregory Hall run by the Tayport Old peoples Welfare Committee.
