was the common referred to the common when this picture was taken? if so thats crazy as kids still call it that today

This is the East Common as was always known by that name up today. The West Common is what is commonly know as the Braes.

ooops that typos galore in the earlier post. This is the East Common and it was known as the common even then. This was the common land for grazing. The West Common is the Braes
