Somewhere in these woods , near Kinshaldy Farm, there are traces of a wartime camp where Polish soldiers were stationed in the 1940s. One of the forestry roads is actually named Polish Camp Road and just before you get to the old farm ,there's a tiny overgrown bridge where the homesick soldiers carved their names and their hometowns. Worth scraping off the moss to see the lettering.
